Job Description
Our client, a top fashion company, is looking for an Accessories Designer. This is a 5 week project that operates onsite out of their New York City office.
Responsibilities:
- Constant research into trends, market studies and technological innovations that contribute to the success and launch of new products and categories for the brand
- Develop creative and innovative concepts and solutions that address the needs of specific categories identified through market research
- Focus on handbags, SLGs, Fashion Accessories, Cold Weather, Socks
- Collaborate with design and CFT partners (raw materials, PD, color and print) to develop innovative product designs that appeal to target audiences and improve design image and product performance
- Actively seek experienced mentorship to develop appropriate designs in terms of cost/value, fit and performance, manufacturability, sustainability, marketability and aesthetic finish
- Lead in the creation of CADS and linesheets
- Build and present inspiring presentations that effectively communicate opportunity, concept, and new ideas to internal and external audiences
- Utilize your knowledge of category-specific consumers and cultures to improve product performance and appearance, and proactively work with the leaders to advance and build a personal portfolio of design skills, experiences and product and process knowledge
- Perform other duties as required
- Work with tech team on new fits and participate and collaborate on wear tests to help in the creation of new ideas and solutions
Qualifications:- Degree in design with experience in active sportswear, swimwear and/or athleisure.
- More than 5 years of experience in the design and development of innovative products
- Previous experience in sportswear design is preferred as this role supports multiple offline categories
- Ability to act as a link between multiple cross-functional departments
- Must be detail-oriented, highly organized, computer savvy in the Adobe suite and capable of multitasking; Skills and experience in Photoshop and Illustrator are required
- Good eye for color, trend, detail and construction.
- Must think entrepreneurially, work independently and think outside the box
- Knowledge of colors, textures and shapes related to the creation of excellent products
- Excellent communication and analytical skills, including the ability to make persuasive presentations to senior management
- Able to be flexible to work in-office when needed by team / business needs due to current hybrid working environment (in office and remote from home)
- In person / in-office collaboration is required, the frequency of such in-person / in-office collaboration (e.g., portion of week, entire week) is dictated by business needs, such collaboration includes work centralized around product development, milestone meetings, fittings, and approvals
