Job Description



At Fairmont Scottsdale Princess our financial operations thrive with the commitment of Colleagues who model our values of Respect, Integrity, Teamwork and Empowerment. You are a multi-tasker and able to work independently performing a wide range of accounting, accounts payable and general cashing tasks to include supporting other members of the team. 

Reporting to the Senior Accounting Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

General Cashier 

  • Handle and count large sums of money accurately to include inputting all cashiering data daily to prepare/calculate bank deposits, cash clearing, and over short.
  • Follow up on all cashier variances in accordance with LSOP.
  • Perform audits as needed.
  • Issue banks, gift cards, and vouchers as needed.
  • Responsibility for the on-site cash machine to include emptying the depository, preparing deposits, and handling breakdowns.
  • Prepare, receive, and audit change orders as needed.

Accounting

  • Invoice processing to include matching, coding verification, approval verification, and entry.
  • Sales and use tax interpretation and application.
  • Monthly vendor statement reconciliations to include researching past due items.
  • Respond professionally and timely to all inquiries from external and internal customers regarding payments.
  • Assist in month end reporting and procedures.
  • Accountable for contract management system to include processing, tagging, and maintenance.
  • Credit card reconciliation to include approval verification, receipt retention, and monthly journal posting.
  • Perform filing and administrative tasks.
  • Follow departmental policies and procedures.
  • Follow all safety policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years in hospitality accounting or equivalent experience required
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications or relevant computer applications required
  • University/College degree in a related discipline an asset
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to multitask in a high speed environment
  • Attention to detail a must
  • Ability to adhere to deadlines
  • Highly responsible & reliable
  • Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
