About the Role
Are you passionate about helping individuals achieve better mental health? We're looking for a compassionate and dedicated Behavioral Health Counselor to join our team. In this role, you'll provide essential support and guidance to clients, helping them navigate challenges and improve their quality of life.
As a Behavioral Health Counselor, you'll work closely with clients and their families under the supervision of a Clinical Supervisor. This is a contract role with flexible hours, offering a great opportunity for those seeking a remote, community-focused position.
Key Responsibilities
Client Care:
Provide direct counseling services to clients and families on your caseload, following the treatment plan.
Deliver CPST (Community Psychiatric Support and Treatment) services in line with client goals.
Participate in treatment planning, progress reviews, and discharge planning.
Advocate for clients in treatment-related decisions.
Facilitate treatment plan updates and progress summaries.
Implement appropriate therapeutic interventions based on prescribed treatment.
Collaboration and Reporting:
Attend client treatment team meetings.
Collect and report relevant data to the necessary staff.
Complete detailed and accurate progress summaries for assigned clients.
Administrative Duties:
Prepare and submit accurate progress notes and related documentation weekly before clinical supervision.
Participate in required training sessions and team meetings.
What We're Looking For
Education & Qualifications:
Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Sociology, or Psychology.
Must hold a provisional license under a state board (e.g., PLPC, PLMFT, CSW, or LMSW).
Skills & Abilities:
Strong organizational and communication skills (both oral and written).
Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule.
Capacity to handle multiple tasks and meet critical deadlines.
Familiarity with confidentiality, incident reporting, and professional ethics.
Must have a valid driver's license and the ability to obtain CPR certification within 45 days of hire.
Training and Supervision
Participate in bi-monthly supervision sessions to support professional development and client care.
Working Conditions
The position is community-based, with travel to client homes required.
Telehealth services are also an approved method of service delivery.
Job Details
Type: Contract (1099)
Hours: Part-time (minimum 20 hours/week) or Full-time (minimum 32 hours/week)
Guaranteed minimum hours per week, with hourly rates applied if hours are unmet.
Weekly timesheets generated using entries in the electronic health record (EHR).
Performance reviews conducted annually.
Expectations:
Maintain minimum required hours per week (20 or 32 hours).
Submit accurate and timely progress notes.
Attend supervision sessions on time and provide required paperwork at least 24 hours prior.
Manage a caseload effectively and adhere to agency policies.
