The GA Telesis Engine Services (GATES) organization is seeking a high performing  Business Unit Controller who will be responsible for managing the financial performance of GATES. Responsibilities include analysis of company performance, business drivers and operational metrics as well as forecasting and financial reporting. The role is responsible for directly supporting GATES and providing insight to improve operational and financial results. The BU Controller will also support GATES by providing training on systems and financial processes ensuring that a high standard of quality and internal control is maintained across the business. The BU Controller will focus on interpreting results and making recommendations to the Sales, Operations, and BU Leadership Team, along with an emphasis on change leadership. The ideal candidate should have the capability to work independently and can-do attitude and mentality.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the financial reporting process as well as month-end close to meet reporting deadlines
  • Support the annual budget, monthly and quarterly forecasts, and variance analysis 
  • Coordinate all BU Monthly Management Reports (MMR) to provide real time information to the GATES management team
  • Provide a comprehensive financial management service to the Business Unit, ensuring the linkage of Operations, Commercial, and Sales teams
  • Oversee the preparation and analysis of material usage reports, cost statements, engine overhaul metrics, labor statistics, and sales reporting
  • Analyze and interpret BU operating and financial results to identify trends driving those results and make recommendations on potential commercial, operational, and financial changes to improve performance
  • Provide a business partnering service to the BU by improving financial processes and supporting the implementation of best practice across all areas
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies
  • Evaluate capital investments and recommend options to maximize growth, productivity, and cash flow
  • Oversee all areas of treasury for the BU including payments, collections and cash flow forecasting
  • Provide support to BU team on strategic initiatives, including new repair capabilities and large customer contracts
  • Act as a safety leader and put safety first in all responsibilities, promoting an environment where each employee makes safety their priority
  • Develop Talent including goal setting, performance reviews, and career development for all direct reports
  • Work with management to drive simplification and standardization of financial processes

Qualifications:

  • Education – Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required, MBA preferred
  • Experience – 10+ years of experience; 5+ years of FP&A, manufacturing, plant controllership and management of geographically dispersed staff
  • 1-3 years of experience with ERP systems (IFS preferred)
  • CPA or similar certifications preferred
