The Director of Children’s Ministries is hired to lead & develop the ministry to children on Sunday mornings (ages 0-Gr.5) in keeping with the church’s vision, mission and values. This is a part-time opportunity that includes part -time compensation as an appreciation for your time, effort, and dedication to our family’s youngest members.
PURPOSE The Director of Children’s Ministries is responsible to build a team to do the work of ministry to children through recruitment, training, discipleship, leadership, and active participation in the ministry. Your role will fundamentally revolve around providing a safe, energetic, and engaging environment wherein our young church members feel loved, valued, and inspired to develop a deeper relationship with Christ.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
1. To spend time in God’s word and prayer to promote personal spiritual growth and be able to model and teach a deeper life with Jesus to the church family.
2. Meet twice a month for 1 hour with the Senior Pastor for personal discipleship and planning of children’s ministry.
3. Execute weekly Sunday program including maintenance of classroom space and supplies.
4. Attend and participate in all but 1 Sunday per month.
5. Recruiting – strategically bringing new people to the teams and helping them find a space that fits with their gifting and the needs of the team.
5.1. Discipling – Investing spiritually in team members as time allows or need dictates.
5.2. Training – Organizing regular training times for Children’s Ministry workers and parents.
6. Work with the children’s volunteer teams in developing a schedule and ensuring teams are prepared for their weekends of service.
7. The Director of Children’s Ministries may work with the Administrative Team in related administrative matters for maximum efficiency.
WORKING CONDITIONS
4 hours on Sunday (9am-1pm) –
40 hours monthly studying, administrative, planning, and training. (Flexible)
2 hours monthly with the Senior Pastor.
Participation in TAF events
Seeking an individual or couple with a passion for children's ministry who is eager to grow spiritually. This person should be creative, adaptable, and able to modify curriculum to suit children of various ages. Ideally, the candidate will have prior experience teaching children's church or school.
