Job Summary:

This position is located in the lab of Dr. Ozioma Okonkwo, within the Wisconsin Alzheimer's Disease Research Center at the UW School of Medicine and Public Health.

Dr. Okonkwo co-leads the Inclusion Core of the new CLARITI grant, which is focused on conducting a standardized, longitudinal imaging and plasma protocol on 2,000 participants across NIA-funded Alzheimer's Disease Research Centers, who will be deeply profiled with amyloid, tau, vascular ischemic, and neurodegeneration signatures of Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders. The successful candidate in this position will have managerial oversight of the Inclusion Core and its UW-Madison team members. They will oversee timelines and milestones to ensure that targeted deadlines are met. Primary areas of responsibility include working closely with the other team members and the community partners to ensure enrollment and engagement goals are met for all components of the study, facilitating the development and deployment of educational and training materials for all team members, keeping regulatory and budgetary documents compliant, preparing progress reports, implementing quality assurance standards, liaising with other components of the CLARITI grant, and actively participating in the hiring and supervising of team members.

Responsibilities:

Plans and coordinates the administrative, operational, outreach and promotional activities related to research studies that may be collaborative and independent. Serves as a subject matter expert.
  • 35% Coordinates the daily activities and contracts related to one or more research program(s)
  • 10% Assists in the development, coordination, and facilitation of trainings and workshops for internal and external audiences to disseminate research program developments and information
  • 10% Plans, develops, and implements processes and protocols to support research aims
  • 20% Serves as a unit liaison and subject matter expert among internal and external stakeholder groups, collaborates across disciplines and functional areas, provides program information, and promotes the accomplishments and developments of scholars and research initiatives
  • 5% Monitors program budget(s) and approves unit expenditures
  • 5% Develops policies, procedures, and institutional agreements on behalf of the program
  • 15% Exercises supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of some Okonkwo Lab employees

The starting salary for the position is $65,500 but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
