Amentum is seeking a Control Room Operator for the Bluegrass Chemical Agent Destruction Pilot Plant project located in Richmond, Kentucky.
Typical Responsibilities include:
Perform all work safely and with the utmost concern for the safety of self and other employees
Perform all work in compliance with environmental permits and regulations
May be required to work overtime or varying hours
Be at work when scheduled and maintain a good attendance record
Work in close proximity to and or in a chemical demilitarization facility
Monitor computer controlled process equipment associated with demilitarization of chemical weapons, including projectile and mortar disassembly machine, munitions washout station, metal treatment unit, robotic feed and process equipment, agent neutralization batch process equipment, off-gas treatment system and process support equipment (e.g. air compressors, chillers, buffer tanks, spray dryer, dosing station, bag house filter, process water tanks, quench tower, scrubbers, heat exchanger, air chillers, separator, air heater, induced draft fans, HVAC systems and filter unit equipment)
Operate and control closed-circuit television (CCTV) system throughout the plant
Monitor systems under control for desirable trends and report to supervisor
Respond to system operating parameter deviations from the desired band and alarms and assume semi-automatic or manual control, as necessary
Control and mitigate events under the direction of Shift Plant Manager during contingencies involving public address announcements, personnel notifications, CCTV monitoring, radio communications, systems and facility monitoring
Provide timely notifications when required by plant events and procedures
Monitor, control and support all activities of personnel working in contaminated and exclusion areas including, but not limited to: moving, receiving, transporting, handling, loading of chemical munitions, maintenance activities and toxic agent area entries
Work with other departments as necessary to cooperatively complete assigned tasks
Generate munitions accountability documents to include feed sheets, process tracking records, and Certificate of Destruction
Maintain accurate log books, data sheets and other historical systems under control
Maintain good housekeeping practices in assigned areas
Issue and maintain security key control
Initiate and control process functions to operate demilitarization systems adhering to associated procedures and processes
Assist with the development and review of all SOPs and maintenance procedures associated with the operation and maintenance of assigned systems
Must comply with conduct of operations
Analyze and provide management recommendations for solving operating system problems, alarms, and unusual occurrences
May serve as Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) Coordinator
May serve on Emergency Response Team (ERT)
Perform other collateral duties as assigned for operations of plant projects
This position is designated as a chemical duty position and is subject to the requirements of the Chemical Personnel Reliability Program (CPRP). As a condition of employment, candidates and incumbents must favorably complete a personnel security investigation, urinalysis testing, medical exam and respiratory screening, and must meet and maintain personnel suitability and reliability requirements established by Army Regulation 50-6. Chemical duties for this position are:
Require routine access to chemical surety materials.
Are authorized to escort visitors to areas containing chemical surety materials.
Control direct access to chemical surety material.
Issue proximity cards, personal identification numbers (PINs), keys, combinations, biometric codes, or any other mechanism that provides direct access to chemical surety material.
Are operators of equipment that disassembles chemical munitions/containers or handle chemical surety materials during demilitarization operations.

Must be a United States or naturalized citizen able to obtain and maintain Blue Grass Chemical Agent-Destruction Pilot Plant (BGCAPP) site access
Must be computer literate in common software applications and able to operate general office equipment
Must maintain fitness-for-duty standards to perform the essential functions of the position, to include any depot or BGCAPP drill, contingency and/or emergency requirement
Industrial equipment troubleshooting skills (i.e., pumps, compressors, heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC), conveyors)
Ability to speak publicly and communicate clearly during normal and crisis situations
Demonstrated experience working in a procedurally compliant environment
Demonstrated experience working in an environmental and safety compliant environment
Desired Qualifications
Technical or trade school in related area
Experience in computerized control room operations
Experience working in toxic/hazardous materials environment
BGCAPP is subject to Army Regulations (AR50-6 Chemical Surety Program and AR190-59 Unescorted Access Program) with govern persons performing work under the Chemical Personnel Reliability Program (CPRP) and unescorted Access Program (UAP). Eligibility to be placed in a CPRP or UAP position requires US citizenship. Employees must favorably complete a series of screenings to include but not limited to: a National Agency Check with Local Agency Check and Credit Check (NACLC) security investigation, drug/alcohol testing and medical examination.
All employees are subject to and agree to random drug and alcohol testing as a condition of continued employment for the duration of their assignment. Respiratory screening and the ability to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) may be required for this position. The ability to obtain/maintain access to the Blue Grass Army Depot is required.
