Special Requirements

Candidates new to CDCR/CCHCS are required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan Fingerprinting, as well as a Tuberculosis test/evaluation prior to appointment, followed by department annual Tuberculosis testing/evaluation thereafter.

No more than two single sided pages, standard letter-sized paper, single spaced, and 12 point Arial font.  Your document needs to be titled “Statement of Qualifications” and your first and last name must be typed at the top of each page.  In your SOQ, describe your experience and skills as it relates to the questions below.  Type the question number and question before your response.

1. Time management, organization, and the ability to work independently are essential qualities/traits of a successful Correctional Lieutenant. Please provide specific details of how you demonstrate these qualities/traits within your current job assignment.

2. Describe how you demonstrate reliability in your current position.  Please include details about your attendance over the past 12 months, timely completion of assignments, and adherence to departmental policies.

3. Describe your ability to monitor staff performance against expectations and hold staff accountable for work performance not meeting acceptable standards.
