Position Overview:

DB Insurance is seeking a motivated and proactive Commercial Auto Associate Underwriter to support our underwriting team in evaluating risks, maintaining policy records, and ensuring compliance with company guidelines. This role is ideal for someone who is analytical, organized, and eager to develop expertise in commercial auto underwriting.This position is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or individuals with some experience in the insurance industry to grow their careers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review underwriting referrals to determine acceptability based on company guidelines and precedent cases.
• Gather, analyze, and summarize underwriting data from multiple sources to assist in decision-making.
• Create underwriting summary sheets to support risk assessment.
• Conduct midterm and probationary policy reviews after binding.
• Enter underwriting conditions and ensure compliance with policy terms.
• Maintain underwriting-related databases and websites.
• Assist with audits related to policy management and underwriting compliance.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or a related field
• Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite/Google Workspace applications
• Basic understanding of insurance principles and risk assessment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ability to interpret Motor Vehicle Records (MVR), Central Analysis Bureau (CAB) reports, International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA) filings, and Loss Runs
• 1+ years of commercial underwriting experience
• Has obtained relevant insurance certifications (eg. CPCU, AINS)
