The Hotel Services Manager is responsible for overseeing the hotel and transportation operations at our Copper River Princess Wilderness Lodge. This role involves managing daily hotel services, ensuring high standards of guest satisfaction, and coordinating transportation logistics. The Hotel Services Manager will work closely with operations, guest services, and transportation teams to deliver seamless experiences for guests.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee hotel operations, including guest services, housekeeping, and front desk activities.

  • Manage transportation logistics to ensure timely and efficient guest transfers.

  • Applies knowledge of all hotel department's operations, responsibilities, and activities to identify customer service needs.

  • Coordinates with all hotel departments, managers, and staff to deliver consistent, smooth and continuous level of customer service throughout the hotel services.

  • Monitor and report on operational performance including customer service reports, guest evaluations and comments and take appropriate action to improve customer satisfaction, ratings and to increase sales.

  • Responsible for the sourcing, hiring, training and management of multiple associated departments.

  • Performs "Manager on Duty" responsibilities.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • This job normally requires a professional level of knowledge in hospitality management equivalent to that which would be acquired through the completion of a Bachelor's degree. Demonstration of directly related work experience may be considered in lieu of the educational requirement.

  • This job normally requires three years of broad, well-rounded, hospitality management experience in progressively responsible positions.

  • Experience managing teams in a hotel or transportation environment.

  • Certification in Hotel Operations or management is preferred.

  • Current valid drivers license.

  • Participates in HAP's safety culture to ensure a safe workplace for all team members and a safe vacation experience for all guests.

  • Dedicated to delivering excellent customer service to all guests, coworkers, and vendors.

  • Participates in HAP's sustainability program, aka "Sustain Alaska & the Yukon", and efforts by actively recycling (where available), reducing waste, and educating guests about our commitment to the environment.

  • Commitment to a diverse, equitable and inclusive work environment.

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States. Holland America-Princess is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time (e.g., H-2B status).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in the use of computer business application, with working knowledge of computerized hotel reservations, point-of-service and accounting systems.

  • Ability to prioritize work, maintain attention to time constraints, while working in a team or group environment.

  • Ability to organize work, meet deadlines, maintain attention to detail and accuracy, supervise and manage staff and guests requests/inquires.

  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment with multiple tasks and external influences.

  • Ability to work with all levels of management, employees and customers with sensitivity, tact and diplomacy.

  • Demonstrate an ability to maintain confidentiality.

  • Ability to communicate, coordinate and collaborate with multiple departments, management, and staff.

  • Ability to support and comply with company policies, procedures and guidelines including all company health and safety standards.

  • Ability to stand/walk/work on feet for minimum of 8 hours per day.
