General Position Summary

The IT Portfolio Analyst plays a pivotal role in supporting the financial management and strategic planning of the IT department. The primary responsibility for this position is the meticulous management of the IT budget, with a particular emphasis on the end-to-end process of budgeting, approving, and coordinating payment of telecom bills with the corporate accounts payable team. The role requires a detail-oriented, analytical thinker with strong organizational skills to ensure financial accuracy, process efficiency, and the ongoing optimization of IT expenditures.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

· IT Budget Management: Oversee and maintain the detailed IT budget, ensuring accurate allocation and tracking of funds across all IT initiatives.

· Telecom Bill Processing: Take ownership of the entire lifecycle for telecom expenses, including budgeting for telecom services, reviewing and approving invoices, and coordinating timely payments to vendors.

· Expense Monitoring: Ensure all telecom and IT expenses are appropriately coded and aligned with organizational policies and budget constraints.

Additional Principal Duties and Responsibilities

· Variance Analysis: Conduct thorough variance analysis comparing actual spend against projected IT and telecom budgets. Identify discrepancies, research root causes, and recommend corrective actions.

· Annual Budget Build: Collaborate with IT leadership and project managers to construct a detailed annual IT budget, incorporating historical trends, upcoming initiatives, and new telecom requirements.

· Value Proposition Support for Quarterly Projects: Assist in articulating and evaluating the value proposition and anticipated benefits of IT projects each quarter, providing financial insights and supporting documentation.

· Benefits Realization Tracking: Partner with project teams to measure and report on benefits realized from IT projects, helping to ensure alignment with projected outcomes and business objectives.

· Ad Hoc Analysis: Perform specialized financial and operational analysis as requested, supporting strategic decisions and fostering continuous improvement across IT functions.

Job Required Knowledge & Skills

· Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.

· Demonstrated experience in budgeting, financial analysis, or portfolio management, preferably within an IT or telecom environment.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.

· Proficiency with financial management software, spreadsheets, and data visualization tools.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and explain financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.

· Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
