Mark Thomas is hiring an entry-level Landscape Designer to our growing Landscape Architecture and Urban Design team! This is an excellent full-time opportunity for a motivated Landscape Architecture professional interested in working on a diverse list of projects while making their mark. Qualified candidates for this position will collaborate closely with other creative design professionals on projects ranging from Southern California to the Oregon border, to include complete streets, urban streetscapes, green streets, public parks, bridges, active transportation & trail design, and community development. Responsibilities - Prepares the details for project plans, drawings, other graphical presentations and models, documents for bid packages, and estimates and quantities
- Provides technical and field support during construction phase as necessary
- Completes work tasks on time and within budget
- Participates in community outreach programs
- Assists with proposals as assigned, and supports business development activities
- Engages with clients and coordinates with subconsultants
- Demonstrates the ability of and understanding to manipulate field survey data
- Demonstrates an understanding of design manuals, agency standards and procedures
- Demonstrates a working knowledge of current engineering software and follows drafting and naming standards
Qualifications - Degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited program
- At least 1-2 years of practical experience, to include Internship experience at a landscape architecture, civil, or transportation consulting firm preferred
- Experience preparing construction documents
- Knowledge of irrigation system design preferred
- Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Suite
- Demonstrated experience with Adobe Creative Suite; SketchUp skills a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with professionals, staff, and clients
- Ability to multitask and succeed in a fast-paced environment
- Act as a creative team member that possesses a strong willingness to learn, grow, and gain licensure

The offered rate of compensation (California locations only) will be based on individual education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and geographic location. The base compensation range for this position is $24.50 - $36.50 per hour.
