Maintenance Technician III

Location: Las Vegas, New Mexico 

Department: Facilities Management 

Reports to: Facilities Director

Position Overview:

The Maintenance Technician III performs master-level work to monitor, maintain, and ensure the safe and effective operation of various hospital systems. This role is essential in maintaining the hospital's infrastructure, ensuring that all systems meet established quality standards, regulatory requirements, and licensing conditions. The Maintenance Technician III is also responsible for supervising the team in the absence of the Facilities Director and performing security duties as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

- System Maintenance & Operation:

- Monitor and maintain the operation of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, ensuring ongoing functionality.

- Perform varied tasks related to construction, repairs, and maintenance of hospital facilities.

- Oversee and maintain power plant equipment and auxiliary systems such as boilers, chillers, pump motors, and humidifiers.

- Conduct preventive maintenance on all assigned machinery and troubleshoot any issues that arise.

- Repair & Troubleshooting:

- Repair and maintain mechanical systems, including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.

- Address and resolve issues related to boiler operations, control logic operations, door mechanisms, and fire alarm/suppression systems.

- Supervision & Leadership:

- Act as the supervisor in the absence of the Facilities Director, overseeing the maintenance team.

- Ensure that all work is performed in compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

- Security & Other Duties:

- Perform security duties as required to maintain a safe environment within the hospital.

- Complete additional tasks as assigned by the Facilities Director.

Qualifications:

- Education:

- High school diploma or GED required.

- Trade school classes in electrical, carpentry, and/or mechanical maintenance are preferred.

- Experience:

- Minimum of three years of experience in facilities maintenance, with expertise in one or more of the following areas:

- Boiler operations

- Electrical systems

- HVAC

- Plumbing

- Welding

- Door mechanisms

- Control logic operations

- Fire alarm/suppression systems
