Mental Health Clinician / Social Worker – Pediatrics (Travel Position) Location: Asheville, NCJob Type: Travel ContractDuration: 13 weeksShift: 5x8 Days Pay: $2,164/week (plus $2,500 completion bonus per contract, up to $7,500 after three contracts) Job Description An 815-bed acute care facility located in Asheville, NC, is seeking a Master’s level Mental Health Clinician (MHC) / Licensed Social Worker for the Pediatric Unit. This position involves providing therapeutic and case management services to children and families in an inpatient behavioral health setting. The clinician will collaborate with psychiatrists, nurses, and behavioral health technicians to support individualized treatment plans, perform assessments, and lead therapy sessions. Key Responsibilities * Conduct psychosocial assessments, family sessions, individual therapy, and group therapy. * Participate in daily treatment team meetings with psychiatrists, APPs, nurses, and behavioral health staff. * Develop, implement, and document individualized treatment and discharge plans. * Provide education and support to patients and families regarding treatment goals and post-discharge care. * Collaborate with multidisciplinary staff to promote patient safety and therapeutic engagement. * Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation within the Cerner EMR system. * Adhere to professional standards, facility policies, and state/federal regulations governing mental health care. Qualifications * Education: Master’s degree in Social Work or related mental health field (required). * Licensure: Current and active North Carolina license (LCMHC, LCSW, LMFT, or equivalent). * Certifications: * BLS – Required * CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) – Required * Experience: Prior pediatric or inpatient behavioral health experience strongly preferred. * Skills: Strong assessment, therapeutic communication, and case coordination skills.
