Nursing Instructor - FT Tenure Track The Nursing department is seeking a technologically diverse individual with a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, as well as student learning and success who can teach a variety of courses within the department. The primary responsibilities consist of teaching lecture and lab components of Nursing in classroom and varied clinical settings. Assignments may vary to include classroom and/or clinical classes in all nursing courses.
This position requires a wide range of professional responsibilities and activities, including participation in curriculum and course development, departmental planning, attendance at department and college meetings, participation on department and Governance committees, student advising and other duties as assigned.
Instructors are expected to participate in College and Departmental assessment initiatives as well as accreditation activities.
Teaching assignments may be on the Middletown or Newburgh campus or both as well as off campus sites, day or evening.
Job Requirements:
Education Required: Master's Degree or higher in Nursing
Experience Required: Three years current clinical experience, currently licensed, registered and/or eligible as a Registered Nurse (R.N.) in New York State. Teaching experience
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Worker Characteristics: - Experience in Obstetrical, Pediatric, Critical Care and/or Med-Surg Nursing
- Experience in online teaching in both asynchronous and synchronous formats with demonstrated evidence of student engagement
- Experience with D2L Brightspace or other comparable learning platform
- Community college teaching experience
- Experience with inclusive and/or culturally responsive pedagogy
- Bilingual Skills
