We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced OKTA Engineer to join a dynamic, remote team. Key Responsibilities:
Identify opportunities to optimize Web Access Management systems, with a focus on enhancing security through single sign-on (SSO) and implementing cost-effective strategies.
Provide project management support, including feasibility analysis, for upcoming projects.
Support Web Access Management systems and integrations to ensure smooth operations.
Document and highlight the design, integration, and SSO features of the solutions implemented.
Provide technical leadership, guidance, and architectural planning for both internal and external customer engagements.
Assist with automation efforts and building repeatable processes.
Perform day-to-day operations to meet SLAs and business needs.
Lead small to medium-sized enterprise infrastructure projects, from gathering requirements to post-implementation.
Optimize performance and availability of web services by monitoring, patching, and making process improvements.
Adhere to information security policies to ensure compliance and security.
Demonstrate strong project management skills and the ability to manage various project phases.
Qualifications:
Proven experience with Okta, Auth0, and IBM Secure Verify.
Extensive experience delivering enterprise-level technology solutions.
Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to perform well under pressure.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
Solid understanding of DNS, TCP/IP, networking (routers, switches, etc.), and cloud-based services.
Knowledge of web services, application services, Java, .NET technologies, and cloud services.
Experience with scripting and code development (PowerShell, Ansible, Java, .NET, etc.).
Ability to work collaboratively on small to medium-sized teams and projects.
Strong understanding of cloud and on-premises infrastructure and access management needs.
Quick to learn new concepts and apply them effectively.
Skilled in driving consensus and gaining support from diverse groups.
Strong written and verbal communication abilities to clearly articulate strategy.
Familiarity with enterprise network security technologies, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, NAC, WAF, and web proxies.
Knowledge of certificate/CA/PKI infrastructure.
A four-year degree in computer science or a related field, or a minimum of five years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
In-depth experience with federated identity solutions (SAML 2.0, OpenID Connect, REST, OAuth).
Strong understanding of Okta Verified Identity and managing large-scale user environments (500K-1M external users).
Experience with installing, upgrading, and configuring Okta and Auth0.
Expertise in web security, authentication, authorization, and session management.
Familiarity with microservices-based architecture, API integration, and AWS Cloud Identity Access.
Understanding of hybrid cloud environments and AWS Cloud principles.
Proficiency in scripting and automating tasks using PowerShell, Ansible, Java, or .NET.
Experience mentoring small to medium-sized teams.
Strong ability to simplify complex technical concepts into clear, actionable solutions.
Excellent planning, strategic thinking, and project management skills.
A good understanding of zero-trust network environments.
