The City of Branson is seeking a dedicated and motivated individual for the position of Police Officer. This is a P.O.S.T. certified law enforcement role, ideal for candidates eager to serve and protect the community. As a Police Officer, you will be responsible for patrolling city streets, enforcing laws, and responding to emergency calls. MINIMUM REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND TRAINING High School diploma or GED equivalent is required. Successful completion of a Certified Law Enforcement Academy is required. Must possess and maintain a valid Missouri P.O.S.T. Certificate as a condition of employment. *Candidates with certifications from other states will be allowed 30 days to receive P.O.S.T. Certification in the state of Missouri after the offer of employment is made. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND TRAINING Two (2) years of experience in a similar or larger sized agency is preferred and starting pay could be considered higher to reflect such experience. MISCELLANEOUS REQUIREMENTS Must be at least 21 years of age at the start of employment. Vision must be correctable to 20/40 and pass the Ishihara color vision test and/or be able to recognize the colors of traffic signals and devices showing red, green and amber. Must possess a valid driver's license and must be insurable under the City of Branson's motor vehicle coverage when operating a vehicle as a part of the position. Must possess no felony convictions at any time while employed by the City of Branson. Tattoos, Scarification, Body Art, and Body Modifications must meet City of Branson Employee Appearance at Work policy. Must be able to pass drug and alcohol screenings, a background investigation, polygraph, psychological, and medical/physical examinations. Must be a U.S. Citizen. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: The starting hourly wage is $23.29 perhour and will increase to$24.22 per hour after 6 months of successful probation.
