We are inviting applications for a Post-doctoral Associate in the Division of Social Science at NYU Abu Dhabi from individuals who have or will soon receive a PhD in sociology, demography, or a related discipline. This is a three-year appointment and will begin September 1, 2025, subject to final budget approval.
The post-doctoral associate will spend half their time on independent research, and half their time on collaborative research with Professors Sabino Kornrich and Luca Maria Pesando. The collaborative research will focus on parenting in an international or comparative perspective, ideally using experimental and quasi-experimental methods to examine parenting norms.
We seek a candidate with expertise in childhood, parenting, or the family broadly, and with interest in inequality and social stratification. An ideal candidate would also have strong methodological skills, either quantitative or qualitative, and have some exposure to survey experiments in the social sciences.
The position does not require teaching, but it may be possible to get teaching experience for compensation. You would join a group of over 20 post-doctoral fellows and 70 faculty in the Division of Social Science.
