Job Description

The Production/Broadcast Engineer will be responsible for providing frontline broadcast engineering and technical support across multiple studios and control rooms within the Stamford Sports facility. The role involves supporting all broadcast systems and technology for live dayofair programs troubleshooting hardware and systems complying with computer security policies and managing projects that include system design integration and commissioning. This position requires a combination of maintenance and project management/system engineering skills. The support needs span seven days a week with certain periods requiring availability as part of a 24x7 schedule.

Responsibilities:

• Perform systemlevel troubleshooting of technical facilities including control rooms studio equipment audio equipment and associated computer systems.
• Conduct preventative maintenance on studio and control room equipment.
• Assist Studio Operations with technical setup in control rooms and studios.
• Collaborate with production and operations teams to implement technical solutions that meet production initiatives.
• Install and update equipment and systems software.
• Repair and troubleshoot equipment to the module level using industrystandard test equipment.
• Manage projects design systems and assist with system integration and commissioning.

Basic Requirements:

• 2 years of experience in a television broadcast environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• BS degree in Engineering Communications or a related field or equivalent relevant experience.

Qualifications :

Desired Characteristics:

• Proficiency with broadcast production systems and software including audio consoles intercom systems video switchers wireless audio serverbased playout and test and measurement equipment.
• Understanding of TCP/IP networks.
• Knowledge of digital TV (HDSDI).
• Proficiency in softwaredriven broadcast video equipment.
• Ability to read and understand system signal flow diagrams for television control room and studio facilities.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to remain calm and focused under the pressures of live television.
• Strong handson problemsolving skills with broadcastrelated equipment and systems.
• Understanding of the urgent needs of onair sports and the ability to remain productive in a fastpaced constantly changing environment.
• Ability to support a 24x7 production environment.
• Willingness and ability to learn new production technologies.
• Preferred experience in live production environments.
• Knowledge of computer server installation and maintenance.
• Specific experience with:
• Sony cameras and switchers
• EVS Servers IP Director XSquare
• Evertz and Grass Valley routing
• RTS Intercom
• Calrec audio consoles
• Tektronix and Leader test and measurement systems.
• Knowledge of SMPTE 2110 standards.
• Experience in system design AutoCAD and project management.
• Understanding of wireless audio and communication technologies.
• Experience with 1080P and 4K HDR production.
• Comms Systems (RTS ADAM/Omneo) knowledge
• Experience with Avid Media Composer
• Experience with Avid Interplay
• Experience with Comms Systems (RTS ADAM/Omneo)
• Proficient in Chyron graphic systems
• Strong customer focus with a commitment to delivering highquality technical support.
• Selfstarter with the ability to meet deadlines and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to diplomatically engage with colleagues across various departments.

Additional Requirements:

• Willingness to work overtime including nights and weekends
• Must be willing to work in Stamford CT.
• Must be willing to submit to a background investigation.
