Job Title: Purchasing Agent
Overview: We are currently seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing Agent to join our team at a leading general contracting firm specializing in commercial construction. The Purchasing Agent will play a critical role in procuring materials, equipment, and services necessary for construction projects, ensuring timely delivery and cost efficiency.
Responsibilities:
Source and procure materials, equipment, and subcontractor services required for construction projects.
Review project plans and specifications to determine material requirements and specifications.
Obtain and evaluate quotations and proposals from suppliers and subcontractors.
Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers and subcontractors to achieve cost savings.
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and site supervisors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and delivery schedules.
Resolve any issues or discrepancies with suppliers and subcontractors regarding deliveries or quality of materials.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
Proven experience as a Purchasing Agent or in a similar procurement role within the construction industry.
Strong negotiation skills and ability to establish and maintain effective vendor relationships.
Knowledge of construction materials, methods, and equipment.
Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent communication and organizational skills with attention to detail.
