Job Title: Engineer (QA Analyst Banking Domain)
Location: Edison, NJ & Morristown, NJ (Onsite)
Duration: 6 months
We are seeking an experienced Engineer (QA Analyst Banking Domain) to join our team. This role will involve designing, developing, and executing functional and regression testing for complex banking applications, including API and web portal testing. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of banking domain workflows, financial data integrity, and hands-on experience in SQL, API validation, and file-based data mapping.
Job Description:As an Engineer (QA Analyst Banking Domain) , you will be responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and compliance of software systems within banking and financial applications. You will work closely with developers, business analysts, and product owners to test APIs, validate data mapping, and verify the integrity of transactions across platforms. This role requires a blend of technical testing skills and strong domain expertise to ensure that banking processes function smoothly and securely.
Key Responsibilities:Design, develop, and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for APIs, web portals, and backend systems.
Perform functional, integration, and regression testing across applications.
Validate various file formats (XML, JSON, CSV) and ensure proper data mapping and reconciliation between systems.
Conduct SQL-based backend validation to verify data accuracy and consistency.
Execute end-to-end testing of banking workflows, including account creation, fund transfers, loan processing, and reconciliation.
Validate compliance and regulatory requirements (KYC, AML, SOX) within test cases.
Test integration points with core banking systems, payment gateways, and third-party financial services.
Ensure audit trails and reporting accuracy for financial transactions.
Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and collaborate with business teams to validate workflows.
Participate in Agile ceremonies , contributing to continuous improvement of QA processes and methodologies.
Document, prioritize, and track defects using QA tools such as JIRA or TestRail .
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure timely resolution of issues.
6 8 years of total experience , with at least 5 years focused on Functional and API Testing .
Strong experience in banking domain processes including transaction processing and financial data validation.
Hands-on experience with Postman or similar tools for API testing .
Strong command of SQL for backend testing and data validation.
Knowledge of file format validation (XML, JSON, CSV) and data mapping techniques.
Experience in regression testing and familiarity with test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium).
Experience validating ETL processes and understanding data warehousing concepts .
Excellent analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
Certification such as ISTQB or equivalent QA credentials preferred.
Familiarity with JIRA, TestRail , or other QA management tools.
