Job Title: SAP ABAP Developer

Summary

• We are seeking an experienced SAP ABAP Developer to support and enhance SAP systems critical to our global medical device operations. This role will help deliver secure, compliant, and innovative SAP solutions aligned with business needs and SAP best practices, across manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and regulatory functions. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise in ABAP development for ECC and S/4, along with a strong understanding of the regulated environment in which medical device companies operate.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain custom SAP programs and enhancements using ABAP across SD, MM, WM, PP, QM, and FI modules.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Quality, Regulatory, Operations) to deliver validated SAP solutions aligned with FDA/GxP compliance standards.
• Develop RICEF/W objects (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, Workflows).
• Build and support interfaces between SAP and external systems used in manufacturing, quality, and logistics.
• Ensure adherence to data integrity, system documentation, and change control processes required in a validated environment.
• Support SAP-related CAPA, audit, and regulatory requests by providing reliable system logic and data retrieval mechanisms.
• Work with Smart Forms, SAP Scripts, ALV, User Exits, BADIs, BAPIs, and enhancement frameworks.
• Contribute to SAP S/4HANA transformation initiatives, including custom code remediation and modernization.
• Adhere to SAP Security best practices for custom tcode, report, table and authorization object development.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.
• At least 3 7 years of hands-on ABAP development experience in a regulated industry; medical device or pharmaceutical strongly preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of SAP ECC (or S/4HANA) and its integration with manufacturing and quality management systems.
• Experience supporting validated SAP environments under FDA/GMP/GxP requirements.
• Familiarity with Fiori/UI5, CDS views, and OData services is a strong plus.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with a proactive mindset for supporting business-critical processes.
• SAP Certified Development Associate ABAP for SAP NetWeaver or S/4HANA
• Understanding of 21 CFR Part 11, ISO 13485, or related compliance standards

Work Site: Boston/Remote

Duration: 6 months - Contract to hire
