You are

A highly skilled and experienced Senior Database Administrator to join our team. You will play a pivotal role in analyzing, designing, and implementing database systems solutions that optimize HR processes and improve decision-making for the Human Resource Command. Additionally, you will work closely across various lines of business to understand the objectives of the organization and prioritize any requirements.

You will design, develop, and maintain robust database systems that support critical business applications, ensuring optimal performance through strategic tuning and indexing. Your proactive approach to database security and backup strategies will safeguard sensitive information and maintain data integrity.

Responsibilities

• Leads and participates in the development, installation, management, and maintenance of database systems while also offering database development resources to the development team.
• Design, develop, and maintain SQL   Server databases to support business applications.
• Optimize database performance through tuning and indexing.
• Implement and manage database security measures to protect sensitive information.
• Develop and execute database backup and recovery strategies.
• Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and provide timely resolutions.
• Collaborate with software developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to define database requirements and ensure data integrity.
• Create and maintain detailed technical documentation for database systems.
• Conduct data analysis and generate reports to support business decision-making.
• Stay current with emerging database technologies and best practices.

Lawelawe Defense Inc ("LDI") is an SBA Certified 8(a) Native Hawaiian Owned (NHO) SDB Lawelawe Defense offers an outstanding record of delivery on various projects encompassing: Program and Portfolio Management; Systems Engineering and Architecture; Network Engineering and Operations; Data Center Optimization and Operations; Desktop/Server and Application Virtualization.

Here's what you need

• Minimum of 10+ years of experience in database management with a Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Data Science, or a related field OR a Bachelor’s degree with 15+ years of experience
• Must possess an active Secret Clearance
• Must possess active CISSP, CEH or CISM certification.
• Advanced experience and certification in Oracle Server are required.
• Familiarity with database management tools like OEM/OMS, Oracle Client, Quest Software (TOAD, Metalogix) is needed.
• Proven experience with installing, configuring, managing, and administering Oracle Server, including working with Failover Clusters, Job Scheduling, backups, database creation, shell scripting, and maintenance using Microsoft best practices.
• Must be familiar with DISA STIGs and ensuring system security and compliance.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, with experience in creating technical documentation (e.g., MFRs, SSPs, SOPs, RACs).
• Ability to work independently in a mostly virtual team environment.

• SQL experience is recommended.
• AWS experience or certification is a plus .
