We’re seeking a Sr. UX Content Designer to join our small, yet mighty UX Content team as its second member (within our larger Product UX Team). Using your proven expertise and razor-sharp content design skills, you’ll help shape the discipline and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions that make it easy for our customers to protect their homes.

A team of designers, strategists, engineers, writers, researchers, and product folks based in downtown Boston and a Monitoring Center in Richmond, VA. What you’ll do:

• Partner with UX Designers, UX Researchers, Product Managers, and Engineers to test, design, build, and launch top-notch mobile and web experiences
• Deliver effective and engaging UX content and micro-content for SimpliSafe experiences–everything from onboarding and tutorials to error copy 
• Audit in-app content, messaging, and communication for accuracy and consistency
• Develop a deep understanding of our customers and our hardware
• Advocate for how content can be used to build trust and relationships with users
• Evolve content design patterns and devise new design patterns for in-app communication 
• Contribute to and help maintain our Style Guide
• Grow the organization’s content design skills and act as an ambassador for the UXC discipline
• Work closely with other departments like Marketing and CX to keep messaging consistent and on-brand 

What you need for success: 

• Top-notch communication skills and an editor’s eye for grammar
• Expertise in content strategy, UX writing, and technical writing
• Ability to explain your rationale for content design decisions 
• A solid understanding of UX design principles and UX research best practices
• Ability to support multiple squads and determine what needs to be done, why, and the best way to do it
• A nimble, no-ego working style
• A knack for quickly understanding complex concepts
• A passion for distilling complexity into simplicity 
• A research-driven approach to content design
• A curious mindset and a willingness to ask “why”
• Good humor; our team takes our work seriously, but our ourselves lightly
• Experience working with Figma, FigJam, Miro, JIRA, and content management systems, e.g. Contentful

Recommended:

• A bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Information Design, or a similar field
• Experience with accessibility, UX design systems, and agile development
• Experience with hardware, software, and service design
