Job Description

The Senior Machine Operator is a hands-on production role responsible for operating,
maintaining, and troubleshooting complex manufacturing equipment to ensure high-
quality output and efficiency. This position is not a management role but requires strong
technical expertise, independent decision-making, and the ability to mentor junior
operators.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
 Set up, operate, and perform routine maintenance on production equipment.
 Troubleshoot and resolve process and quality issues independently.
 Conduct regular quality checks and ensure compliance with company safety
standards.
 Collaborate with engineering, QA, and production teams to improve efficiency
and resolve operational challenges.
 Follow and enhance standard operating procedures (SOPs).
 Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying and implementing
process optimizations.
 Mentor and train junior operators, providing technical guidance and knowledge-
sharing without direct supervisory responsibilities.
 Maintain accurate documentation of production, quality, and maintenance
activities.

Essential Communication Skills:
 Clearly communicate production status, issues, and solutions across teams.
 Provide constructive feedback and technical guidance to junior operators.
 Collaborate effectively with engineers, QA staff, and fellow operators.
 Maintain professionalism and composure in a fast-paced production
environment.

Other Essential Skills and Qualifications:
 Experience: Minimum of 10+ years of hands-on manufacturing experience in
machine operation.
 Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting complex
machinery; technical training or certifications a plus.
 Problem-Solving: Strong critical thinking and independent decision-making
skills.
 Output: Proven record of consistent, high-quality production.
 Interpersonal Skills: Team-oriented with the ability to mentor and guide others.
 Education: High school diploma or GED required.
