Lotus Hospitality began as a small company with a single hotel and one man’s vision to create a luxury experience accessible to everyone. From humble beginnings, Lotus Hospitality has expanded to operate 14 hotels and four multi-use properties in less than a decade. Through innovative new properties and historic refurbishments, Lotus Hospitality has reshaped Kansas City's downtown corridor, sparking growth and revitalization. But we’re nowhere close to finished. As we continue our journey, we’re looking for a skilled CPA to join our team and help drive our financial strategy forward. Position Summary: The Certified Public Accountant at Lotus Hospitality will oversee financial planning, compliance, and reporting for our expanding hotel operations. This role includes managing accounting activities, preparing financial statements, budgeting, and advising on financial strategies. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented professional with a deep understanding of the hospitality industry. Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee all financial operations, including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and audits.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
• Monitor cash flow, budgeting, forecasting, and cost management to support business growth and profitability.
• Advise management on financial decisions, including revenue generation, cost reduction, and risk management.
• Conduct financial analyses to identify potential improvements or risks in current operations.
• Liaise with external auditors and regulatory agencies as necessary.

Responsibilities:

• Offer suggestions to improve the company’s current financial status
• Work in an advisory capacity on the organizational budget and strategic planning
• Perform internal auditing
• Bookkeeping: Review the company’s financial documents including financial statements, balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and financial transactions and make sure they’re correct and comply with laws and regulations
• Report our sales-to-income effectiveness by forecasting revenue and analyzing our profit margin

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required, preference to candidates with an MBA
• Must exhibit exemplary problem-solving, communication, and time management skills
• Must have 2 or more years of work experience in accounting services, financial services or similar
• Exceptional knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
• Passed the uniform CPA examination from the AICPA and possess a CPA certification in compliance with the state board of accountancy regulations
