Job Description

The position:

  • Pet Care Professional in Alexandria and nearby communities. 

Compensation and reimbursement details:

$18 - $24 / hour (based on previous staff wages)

$1500 - $2500 / month

  • 30-minute visits are paid at $14 per visit, but that rate will increase to $16 per visit within the first year. Most staff will gross $21 per hour.
  • Higher pay for major holidays and short-notice requests. 
  • 100% Client Gratuity.
  • Bonuses for client/staff referrals and reaching performance goals.
  • Staff will receive bonuses for obtaining Pet First Aid and Pet CPR certifications.
  • This work is offered as an independent contractor. 

The responsibilities:

  • Create a safe and positive walking environment for our client's dogs. 
  • Provide detailed and attentive care for our client's cats and other small animals (guinea pigs, gerbils, hamsters, etc.).
  • Perform house-sitting duties as requested by the client.
  • As needed, transport client pets. 
  • Candidates with evening, weekend, and holiday availability preferred.
  • Client demand changes week to week; we ask that staff remain flexible.
Ideal candidates:
  • This role is designed to be part-time. Our peak business hours for dog walking are Monday through Friday, during the business day. Candidates who have flexible schedules with other professional/educational schedules will appreciate our work. 
  • Many of our staff members are freelancers, students, stay-at-home parents, and recently retired professionals. As long as you love pets, we are excited to explore your application.
