Job Description
We are excited to announce an opening for a Loss Control Consultant on our Commercial Lines team within the Atlantic South region. In this role, you will provide essential risk management and loss control services to our clients. You'll be responsible for gathering critical risk assessment information for our underwriting staff, identifying potential risks associated with various accounts, and delivering valuable recommendations to help mitigate those risks.
This is a field-based position, primarily focused on Northern and Central Delaware. We prefer candidates who reside in the Wilmington, Newark, or Dover, DE areas, or in Southeast Pennsylvania (greater Philadelphia area). However, we are open to considering other locations for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct field visits and perform both on-site and remote risk surveys.
Manage internal report reviews, ensuring compliance with recommendations and guidelines.
Collect objective data on various accounts and provide meaningful risk information to underwriters that align with established guidelines and regulations.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with insured clients and associated agents.
Develop, implement, and execute property and casualty service plans aimed at driving effective risk reduction.
Collaborate with market partners (underwriting and distribution) to provide additional feedback on accounts, including identifying and communicating high hazard exposures.
Ensure risk surveys and reports are informative and present a clear picture of potential risk factors.
Prioritize and manage work assignments, delivering reports on pre-bind assessments, new business, renewals, and large account service programs in accordance with established turnaround standards and due dates.
Maintain all necessary professional designations and certifications as required by regulatory bodies for loss control services.
Follow all department guidelines and consult with management on various accounts.
Represent a professional and positive image to our clients, agents, and internal stakeholders.
Possess a valid driver's license and be open to overnight travel, which may be required up to 30% of the time.
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Safety Management, Risk Management, or a related field.
Demonstrated commitment to self-development by pursuing professional insurance designations (CSP, CIH, PE, CPCU, etc.).
A minimum of 7 years of property/casualty insurance experience, including at least 3 years as a loss control representative.
Proven success in risk reduction service planning and execution with clients.
