Your opportunity

The mobile technology team is responsible for designing, building, supporting and involving client-facing native mobile apps for Charles Schwab. We have been a key partner working with product teams to deliver excellent client experience to the millions of Schwab users.

As a team member, you will work in one or more product channels to build mobile apps that meet and exceed client’s needs, work closely with product teams to pair your mobile technology knowledge with product knowledge to create creative and innovative solutions that thrill customers and disrupt competitors. What you are good at

This role requires the Development Engineer in Test to design, develop, and maintain automated test solutions using Appium. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and execute testing strategies that meet our quality standards. Your responsibilities would include:

  • Develop and maintain functional test automation scripts for mobile applications using Appium with Java
  • Ensure automation is constantly running, analyzing, promptly reporting metrics and raising failures
  • Research and analyze mobile app requirements to script and execute their automation
  • Work cross-organizationally across Schwab to define environment requirements and tools to develop and execute best Automation practices
  • Foster our end-to-end testing approach from functional to regression across multiple applications and platforms
  • Work effectively within Agile teams comprising developers, liaise with product owners and scrum master to plan, schedule and accomplish test automation goals
  • Contribute to future QA tooling and technology decisions

What you have

Required Qualifications
  • 2+ years in Mobile Application Development
  • 3+ years of experience in building and maintaining test automation frameworks
  • 4+ years of developing, executing, and maintaining automated test scripts
  • Hands-on coding experience with Java or similar object-oriented programming languages
  • Understanding of Appium framework and its capabilities, APIs and server configuration for executing Mobile app testing automation
  • Expertise with full cycle mobile app testing including UI, functional, compatibility, usability, accessibility, and performance testing
  • Familiarity with iOS and Android mobile operating systems, device configurations and debugging tools
  • Working knowledge of industry-standard tools such as JIRA/MTM, Zephyr/HPQ for logging bugs and managing test cases
  • Experience with integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
  • Understanding of test case design, test automation best practices, and Lean DevOps methodologies for execution and reporting
  • Proven ability to successfully balance analysis, debugging, execution and delivery of multiple QA automation projects with concurrent releases
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with SWIFT programming language and knowledge of XCUITest framework for iOS mobile app testing preferably using
  • Familiarity with Java/Kotlin programming language and knowledge of Espresso framework concepts for Android mobile app testing
  • Exposure to full cycle mobile app development on iOS and/or Android platforms
  • Understanding of working with RESTful API
  • Financial/Trading services industry experience is a plus
